Cosmetic batch production in Tunisia

Cosmetic batch production of your products takes place at our site in Tunisia, with our own equipment and in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice (ISO 22716). Small batches negotiable, from 100 to 200 units.

Oppenheimer Lab cosmetic production area in Tunisia

Our production area

700 m² dedicated to cosmetic manufacturing.

Located in Tunisia, our production site covers 700 m² organised according to cosmetic Good Manufacturing Practice (ISO 22716): raw material storage areas, weighing rooms, manufacturing clean rooms, filling and packaging workshops, a quality control laboratory and a shipping area.

Our flows are designed to eliminate any risk of cross-contamination: forward flow, positive pressure in the clean rooms, material and personnel airlocks, dedicated changing rooms. Traceability is complete — from the raw material received to the batch shipped.

This organisation allows us to handle several client projects at the same time, from small batches (negotiable, from 100 to 200 units) to industrial volumes.

Technical know-how

Controlled processes for every galenic form.

Emulsification

Stable O/W and W/O emulsions, fine textures, hot or cold process depending on sensitive actives. High-speed and rotor-stator homogenisation.

Vacuum mixing

Vacuum turbo-emulsifiers to remove air and achieve a fine, even texture.

In-process quality control

Samples taken at key stages: viscosity, pH, density, appearance, odour. No deviation moves on to the next stage.

Our signature textures

An extensive sensory vocabulary.

Over the course of our projects, our R&D has developed a palette of signature textures — recognisable by their feel, their shine and the way they melt. We know how to reproduce them, adjust them and customise them for your formulas.

Light creams

Fine O/W emulsions, rapid absorption, non-greasy.

Multifunctional gel-creams

Fresh feel and long-lasting comfort.

Nourishing oil serums

Two-phase formulas or dry oils enriched with actives.

Soothing floral waters

Distillates and hydrosols concentrated in plant actives.

Rich balms

Melting, anhydrous textures, the ultimate in cocooning.

Airy foams

Ultra-gentle cleansers and make-up removers, cloud texture.

Ingredient selection

Rigour starts with the raw material.

Every incoming raw material undergoes quality control — supplier certificate of analysis checked, organoleptic control, physico-chemical and microbiological tests when necessary. No batch enters production without approval.

We favour certified natural ingredients: cold-pressed vegetable oils, standardised botanical extracts, biotechnological actives, COSMOS and Ecocert raw materials. Our local partnerships (olive oil, prickly pear, myrtle, rosemary, harissa) showcase Tunisian biodiversity.

Traced sourcing

Audited suppliers, certificates of analysis mandatory.

Certifications

COSMOS, Ecocert, Vegan, Halal available on request.

Proprietary actives

Local supply chain for prickly pear seed oil, cosmetic-grade extra virgin olive oil.

The service

Preparing for cosmetic batch production

A batch gets off to a good start when three elements are in place: a validated formula, from our catalogue or from custom development; containers and labels available; a quantity set for each product. A packaging delay shifts the schedule, even if the formula is ready.

Seasons matter too: requests peak for sun care products in summer, and for moisturising and oily skin care in winter. For a sun care range, book your production several months before the sales peak.

Good manufacturing practice: what the regulation says

For a product sold in the European Union, Article 8 of Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 (new tab) sets out the principle: “The manufacture of cosmetic products shall comply with good manufacturing practice”. Our production follows the ISO 22716 standard, the reference framework for this GMP. The link with the regulatory file is direct: under Article 11, the product information file contains a description of the method of manufacturing and a statement on compliance with GMP.

The service

From bulk to finished product

Production is under the responsibility of Mohamed Arbi Jallali, Partner, Head of Production and Formulator, a chemical engineer with 14 years’ experience in the cosmetics industry. Once manufactured and checked, the bulk moves on to filling and packaging: filling, labelling and cartoning.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can you manufacture a formula we already own?

That is the principle of contract manufacturing. Send the formula, its specifications and the existing documents: we assess its manufacture at our site before quoting, and the quote is free. Our guide to cosmetic contract manufacturing details how the roles are shared.

What does the delivery date of a batch depend on?

First, on the formula’s starting point: 45 to 90 days for private label, 3 to 6 months for custom private label, 6 to 12 months for custom formulation. Then on the availability of containers and how quickly you give your approvals. Once the batch is complete, delivery within Tunisia takes 48 hours.

How can the history of a batch be traced?

From its batch number, which Article 19 of Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 requires on every product. If a customer or an authority has a question, we make the complete history of the batch concerned available within 24 hours. Record this number in your sales records.

How do you compare several production laboratories?

On verifiable elements: the actual place of manufacture, the quality standard followed, the documentation provided and adherence to the schedule. With us, all ranges are manufactured at our site in Tunisia, with our own equipment, in accordance with ISO 22716. Our article choosing a cosmetic laboratory looks in detail at the criteria to check.
