Rich, melting balms in private label, for your brand
A private label balm gives you an anhydrous formula ready to adapt: lip balm, hand balm, body balm or cleansing balm. We adjust its hardness to your container, then manufacture it in our laboratory in Tunisia.
Balm is the texture of comfort: an anhydrous formula — without a drop of water — concentrated in butters, waxes and oils, which melts on contact with the skin to nourish it intensely. It is the cocooning product par excellence, the one for chapped lips, damaged hands and dry areas that call for deep repair.
Oppenheimer Lab masters the delicate art of hot pouring: shea and cocoa butters, beeswax and plant waxes, precious oils are melted, homogenised and then poured into their containers. It is this mastery that gives our balms their smooth surface, their melting feel and their stability.

The art of hot pouring
A successful balm is a matter of crystallisation: each butter and each wax has its own melting point and crystallisation speed. Our pouring protocols — melting temperature, cooling speed, tempering — are optimised to avoid graininess, cracks and exudation, and to obtain a homogeneous texture that melts exactly at skin temperature.
We work with raw butters as well as refined ones, beeswax as well as vegan alternatives (candelilla, carnauba, rice), and adjust the hardness of the balm to the container: stick, jar, tube or palette.

100% active formulas
Without water, a balm needs neither preservative nor emulsifier: every percent of the formula is an active ingredient. It is an argument for natural and organic ranges, with COSMOS, Ecocert, Vegan and Halal certifications available on request.
We incorporate targeted fat-soluble actives: vitamin E, soothing bisabolol, plant ceramides, calendula extracts, as well as gourmand fragrances or certified flavours for lip balms.

From lip balm to multi-purpose balm
The balm format can be developed endlessly: tinted lip balm, repairing hand balm, nourishing body balm, cleansing balm that turns into an oil, beard balm, balm for dry feet. Our laboratory supports you from prototype to series production, with temperature resistance tests adapted to your export markets.

The texture
The trade-offs of a private label balm project
Here, the container is chosen early, because it determines the formula: a stick and a jar do not call for the same hardness. Start from the use (lips, hands, face, beard), set the format, then choose a base from our 500+ formulas. The formula-container pairing is validated before the containers are purchased.

Frequently asked questions
Does a lip balm in a small stick need to show its weight?
Not always. Article 19 of Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 (new tab) exempts from the nominal content statement “packaging containing less than five grams or five millilitres”. The other statements remain required; for lack of space, the list of ingredients and the precautions for use can appear on an enclosed or attached leaflet, label, tape or card, with a reference on the packaging.
What minimum quantity for a first batch of lip balms?
Small batches negotiable, from 100 to 200 units. A first launch can be limited to one or two versions, for example a neutral balm and a tinted balm, before extending the range according to sales. The free quote details what is included: container, label, filling and packaging.
How can a balm be prevented from deteriorating during transport?
By working on the formula and on the container. We check how the balm withstands the temperatures of your markets, and that its container protects it and survives the journey, before the full order. Mention your distribution channels and countries of sale from the brief, especially if they are hot countries.
Cleansing balm or beard balm: can they be added later?
Yes, nothing requires launching everything together. Release first the product that is most relevant to your customers, keep some budget to market it, then expand based on feedback. Each new use goes back through the choice of container and its validation with the formula.
