Texture 01 — Sensory world

Private label light creams, formulated in Tunisia

A private label light cream is a fine emulsion chosen from our catalogue and adapted to your brand, before being manufactured in our laboratory in Tunisia. You bring the brief, we deliver the product filled, packaged and labelled.

Light cream is the queen of daily care textures: rich enough to moisturise lastingly, fine enough to penetrate in a few seconds without leaving a film. At Oppenheimer Lab, we master the delicate balance between the aqueous phase and the oily phase that gives an emulsion its lightness, its stability and its much sought-after powdery finish.

Our light creams are high-precision oil-in-water (O/W) emulsions, formulated in our laboratory in Tunisia and produced on our vacuum mixing lines. Each development starts from a sensory brief: speed of penetration, skin feel, fragrance, finish — then our formulators build the texture around your actives.

01

A fine emulsion, immediate penetration

The secret of a successful light cream lies in the droplet size of the internal phase and in the choice of emulsifying system. We work with modern emulsifiers — sucrose esters, associative polymers, lamellar systems — which produce very fine emulsions, stable over time and remarkably soft on application.

The result: a cream that melts on contact with the skin, penetrates quickly and leaves a powdery finish, with no greasy or sticky effect. It is the ideal texture for day care, moisturising face creams and ranges for normal to combination skin.

02

Stability and safety, from development to production

Every formula developed in our laboratory goes through a complete stability testing protocol: thermal cycles, centrifugation, accelerated ageing and microbiological testing. These tests check that the texture promised at launch remains stable during storage, in the climatic conditions of your target markets.

Production takes place in our vacuum mixing tanks, which remove air bubbles for a homogeneous, smooth and glossy emulsion, batch after batch. Our capacity allows us to produce both pilot batches and industrial volumes.

03

Complete customisation for your brand

In private label as in custom development, everything is adjustable: level of hydration, actives (hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, Tunisian plant extracts), fragrance, colour, matte or satin finish. We also support you in choosing the packaging — jar, tube, airless bottle — to preserve the freshness of the formula.

Launching a private label light cream: a typical timeline

Let us take a typical example: a Tunisian entrepreneur creates her first skincare brand, sold online, with a single product: a 50 ml moisturising face cream with a light texture, based on an already validated formula. For 1,000 units, around 12 weeks is realistic if the packaging is available, approvals are quick and the checks are satisfactory.

Jar, tube or airless: decide before ordering

The container is decided with the formula, never afterwards. It must protect the cream, dispense it properly and withstand transport. An airless pump suits some formulas without being a default choice: we test the formula-container pairing before the full order, and advise you against buying your containers before this validation.

The light cream joins our skincare range; our private label cosmetics guide covers the steps common to all textures.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does my light cream need an expiry date?

Not necessarily. Under Article 19 of Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 (new tab), the date of minimum durability is not mandatory beyond a durability of thirty months. The label then shows the period after opening: the symbol in Annex VII, followed by a period in months or years.

How much does a light cream under my own brand cost?

The price depends on the product, the actives and the packaging: free quote, reply within 48 hours. A simple moisturising base and a cream rich in actives do not have the same cost price, and the choice between jar, tube or airless also weighs. The quote specifies what is included.

Can I sell a cream made in Tunisia in France?

Yes, if it complies with the rules of the destination market. For the European Union, you need in particular a Responsible Person established in the EU, a product information file with a safety assessment, compliant labelling and a CPNP notification before sale. We prepare the PIF and the notification.

Light cream or gel cream: which one to choose?

It all depends on the sensation promised. The light cream is an oil-in-water emulsion with a powdery finish, designed for normal to combination skin. The gel cream, translucent and fresh, relies on a very high aqueous phase and appeals in hot climates. Both are available in private label.
