Texture 03 — Sensory world

Two-phase oil serums in private label, for your brand

A private label oil serum brings together an aqueous phase and an oily phase in the same bottle, to be shaken before use. We start from an existing formula, adjust it to your brand and manufacture it in our laboratory in Tunisia.

The two-phase oil serum is the alliance of two worlds of care: an aqueous phase concentrated in moisturising actives and an oily phase rich in nourishing lipids, brought together in a bottle that is shaken before use. Visually spectacular, formidably effective.

At Oppenheimer Lab, we design two-phase products whose balance is calculated to a tenth of a gram: the separation must be clear at rest, the temporary emulsion perfect after shaking, and the final touch silky, never greasy. It is a high-precision formulation exercise that our laboratory masters for dry, mature or demanding skin.

01

Two phases, multiplied effectiveness

The aqueous phase carries the hydrophilic actives — hyaluronic acid, glycerin, peptides, floral waters — while the oily phase provides the biomimetic lipids: Tunisian plant oils (olive, prickly pear seed, jojoba), squalane, vitamin E. Once shaken, the formula forms a short-lived micro-emulsion that deposits both families of actives in a single gesture.

This architecture makes it possible to combine in one product ingredients that are incompatible in a classic emulsion, and to reach active concentrations worthy of a serum with the nourishing comfort of an oil.

02

A sensory show in the bottle

The two-phase product is also a product of emotion: the dance of the bubbles after shaking, the two layers in contrasting shades, the texture that transforms between the palms. We work on these aesthetic parameters — densities, shades, speed of separation — so that your product is as desirable on the shelf as it is effective on the skin.

Exceptional Tunisian oils

Our Tunisian roots give us access to remarkable plant oils, sourced locally: extra-virgin olive oil, cold-pressed prickly pear seed oil, sweet almond oil. We incorporate them into your formulas with full traceability, a strong argument for brands seeking Mediterranean authenticity.

What to decide for a private label oil serum

A two-phase product calls for more trade-offs than a cream, because its appearance is part of the promise. Before choosing a base from our 500+ formulas, set the target, often dry or mature skin, the actives to highlight in each phase and the expected look on the shelf.

The bottle comes next. If it shows the two layers, it becomes part of the positioning; it must also dispense a product that is shaken and withstand transport. Have the formula-container pairing validated before ordering: you will avoid a stock of unsuitable bottles.

Schedule, volumes and place in the range

Allow 45 to 90 days in private label, 3 to 6 months if the formula must be reworked as a custom private label. To test an elixir, small batches are negotiable, from 100 to 200 units. The oil serum belongs to our skincare range and, certified COSMOS or Ecocert on request, to natural and organic cosmetics.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

In which language should the label of an exported oil serum be written?

The one required by the country of sale: Article 19 of Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 (new tab) refers, for several statements including the function and the precautions for use, to the law of the State in which the product is made available to the end user. List your markets from the brief; our article on exporting Tunisian cosmetics completes this point.

Oil serum or dry oil: what difference for my range?

The oil serum combines an aqueous phase loaded with moisturising actives and a nourishing oily phase, brought together by shaking. The dry oil blends oils and light esters with a dry touch, without an aqueous phase. The first is aimed at targeted care, the second at use on the face, body or hair.

What budget should I plan for a first oil serum?

The price depends on the product, the actives and the packaging: free quote, reply within 48 hours. For a two-phase product, the active content of each phase and the type of bottle weigh the most. Also keep part of the budget for marketing, one of the five reference points of our brief.

Can the aqueous phase contain a floral water?

Yes. We work with rose, orange blossom and witch hazel hydrosols, which can be used in the aqueous phase or sold on their own under your brand: our hydrosol page details this second option. The choice is made at the brief stage, with the other actives.
